Clone Site


New in version 1.1, the Clone Site function allows you to make a copy of any site. This function is specially usefull for TGP type sites. It greatly speeds up deploment of new sites by copying all page records (and optionaly the HTML files) from an existing site to a new site. It is still neccessary to edit the page records to modify some fields like, THEME, POSTEMAIL,POSTHANDLE. Also, you should edit the HTML code to refelect the nature of the new site.

When you press the Clone Site button you will see the following.

New Host Name- You must enter a new host name.

New URL to host- You may enter a new host URL here.

New Uplaod Type- You may enter a new Uplaod type here. If the new host uses FTP put FTP here. If the new host uses a HTML program to upload leave blank or enter HTM.

New Upload URL- You may enter a new Upload URL here. If the new host uses FTP you may leave this field blank. If the host uses a HTML program put the URL to take you to the logon screen for the upload/managment program.

Page Base URL - You must enter a new page base URL here. The page base URL is the URL of your site without any HTML file names at the end.
Example: If the URL to your index page is
http://newserver.com/mydir/index.html
Then the base URL is
http://newserver.com/mydir/

Copy Original HTML code to New Folder Check box- If Checked the original HTML files will be copied to a new folder. Note if you select this option the target folder (directory) must exist.

Keep References to Posts for all new Pages- If Checked the references to posts for the original page records will be duplicated for the new page records.

Keep References to Sponsors for all new Pages- If Checked the references to Sponsors for the original page records will be duplicated for the new page records.

DOS Path to New HTML Files- You must enter a valid path to the location for the NEW HTML files.
